Theatre Design 101 / New Costume Galleries
Hi all,

We've just opened our new design at Scenography - The Theatre Design Website

we have four new galleries (including a costume gallery) as well as a whole new section devoted to the more basic of theatre design subjects "Theatre Design 101" it's in its infancy at the moment but we set it up to try and deal with the hundreds of requests we get each year from school pupils asking us to help them with project research!

Our basic mens and women blocks are still up for download (iPod ebook or regular printing versions) and we hope to add to our costume section (traditionnaly the most popular area) now that we have an dedicated Associate Editor for costume!

and finally were well on target for opening our user editable portfolio pages - membership of which is open to professional designers, costume makers puppet makers, performance artists, scenic artists, props-makers, lighting designers and stage managers as well as students taking an undergraduate course.

The Globe Theatre - Destroyed

Earth, Wind and Fire have not been kind to Pragues theatres in recent years and the latest victim is Pragues replica of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.

theatre.cz reported in November that the theatre, built in 1999 burnt to the ground in the early hours of Saturday, November 11th. Eye witnesses describe two loud bangs before discovering the fire.

we've added downloadable diagrams of Basic Costume blocks (also available for iPods) to our "Technical Theatre" section.

Things have been pretty busy recently - we we're featured in an article in the "The Stage" last week, actually they were very generous to us - the article in "Opportunity Clicks" showcased the best of online services to theatre and arts professionals. And we're currently working hard to open up our free online folios for designers (2006)

As ever we're interested in what the Theatre Design/Scenography world is up to and are happy to receive article submission from professional designers/artists or higher education theatre or performance art students

want to promote your work for free? view our submissions page!
